Fugro Electro Magnetic Pty Ltd is looking for an EM geophysicist to join its developing team in Perth, Western Australia.       ·            Career opportunity in marine electromagnetic data analysis ·            Perth based; international scope ·            Leading geophysical service provider   Fugro entered into a global cooperation agreement with Electromagnetic Geoservices ASA (EMGS), the market leader in marine electromagnetic (EM) imaging.    Under the terms of the agreement, Fugro will gain access to EMGS’s marine EM methods for hydrocarbon exploration and production, and EMGS will gain access to Fugro’s worldwide marketing network and marine operating expertise.   A hub has been established in Perth, Western Australia to facilitate this agreement in the Asia Pacific region, and to further develop other areas of Marine EM.    The hub includes both Fugro and EMGS employees.
position requirements
Responsibilities of the position include processing, imaging, inversion and interpretation of marine CSEM / MT data.  A key component of the role will be integration with seismic and non-seismic data.   Although this role is Perth based, some international travel and client liaison in technical consulting, marketing, project presentation and training will be required.      The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background in EM / MT, with >5 years of relevant practical experience.    Experience with CSEM is desirable, but not essential.  Candidates will strong EM experience in non-petroleum applications may also be considered.  The ability to modify software for processing, modelling and inversion of EM / MT data would also be highly regarded.    Applicants should be team-orientated, capable of developing original ideas and concepts with a willingness to learn and explore new environments. You should also be able to work to deadlines and have strong report writing and presentation skills. Salary will be commensurate with skills and experience.
